today we are overwhelmed by a very wide range of products and it is difficult to navigate them. The same is true for cosmetics. Millions of varieties, millions of brands, millions of sales methods. Wealthy manufacturers bombard us with advertisements. Some manufacturers try other sales methods. Clubs of fans of this brand or that brand are formed. And they attack us with claims that only their products are the best, the most beneficial to the skin, the most fragrant. They all boast about how their products are based on nature and how they do not test on animals. Can you believe that? No. They are not!
So sooner or later, the question must come to your mind: how hard is it to make your own soap? Or even perfume? And you will see that it is not that big a deal. Would you like to try?
Make a simple perfume
.
What do you need? Pure alcohol. Vodka is fine. However, it is better to buy pure alcohol at a pharmacy. You will also need distilled water (at least boiled for a long time) and essential oils of your choice. Then you\’ll also need an accurate measuring cup (a syringe is ideal), a dropper, and a dark container for mixing and decanting. And a nice bottle for the final scented product.
Let\’s first consider what kind of product we are trying to create. There are perfumes, eau de parfums, and eau de toilette. Perfume contains ingredients in the ratio of 15-30% fragrance, 70-90% alcohol, and 0-10% water, while eau de toilette is 4-10% fragrance and 80-90% alcohol.
The ingredients are mixed together, shaken well, and left in a dark place for about 5 weeks. Only then can the perfume be poured into prepared and boiled bottles and used.
Complete instructions can be found in many places on the Internet. Most of the people providing such information also sell fragrance essences and other home cosmetics. There you will find much more advice. Remember, however, that homemade cosmetics can be addictive. For us, making homemade cosmetics certainly is.
