Vegans are people who have decided to stop eating animal products, whether for health or ethical reasons. There are probably two types of vegans. [1. those who are lactose intolerant or simply became vegan to improve their health.
2. more general vegans. These are people who do not like the treatment of animals in the food industry. These people have decided to stop eating animal products because they want to prevent animals from being abused and killed for food. These vegetarians also oppose animal testing products and various animal furs.
Treatment of animals:
The food industry has animals for meat and animals for obtaining animal products (eggs, milk, etc.). Non-meat animals are, for example, cows, chickens, goats, and sheep. Cows and chickens are perhaps the worst treated. In the case of cows in the dairy industry, they only know how to milk, and they give birth to calves, which are taken away after birth to be milked and further processed. These calves are fed artificial feed and become either beef or dairy cows. But imagine how awful it must be for the mother cow to be deprived of her baby. In the egg industry, hens are stuffed like sardines and killed when the chicks hatch and the roosters emerge.
What they eat. But not only legumes, fruits, and vegetables. These days, there are many plant-based alternatives to the usual animal products. For example, various plant-based yogurts and coconut yogurts, plant-based milk, nut milk, rice milk, oat milk, coconut milk, tofu, soybeans and their products, vegan cheese, nuts and seeds, etc. In fact, it\’s safe to say that there are vegan alternatives to all the usual foods. These days, there are many plant-based products available in vegan restaurants, cafes, and regular stores.
Does veganism cost money?
Most people look at the prices in the stores and think that veganism is very expensive. But that is a big mistake. Veganism does cost money, of course, but it doesn\’t have to. It is up to you to decide what products you want to use and what kind of diet you want to follow.
