Technology has always been a problem for me. I want you to remember when I was in elementary school. I think I was really bad at it. I remember there was something to make. But it was something really simple, but maybe to me it was complicated. I don\’t know why, but there were things I couldn\’t do. The worst for me was the first assignment, which was to build a simple bicycle. Not a big bike or a kid\’s bike, but a little bike that you could hold in your hand. And it doesn\’t matter at all if it is totally flimsy. I just didn\’t know it at all. I didn\’t know how to design it. Or to make a bicycle. Why should I make a bicycle? What kid likes to do something so boring? That\’s where my dislike of technology started. I didn\’t understand technology at all. I thought technology was just me and the boys, and I didn\’t understand why I needed to know about it. I preferred to cook. From a young age, I was more of a girly type and only a girly type. When my children were born, I looked forward to walking them in their strollers.
Even as a child, I loved carrying dolls and other toys in the stroller. So why would I be interested in technology? I wasn\’t interested, nor did I care what it was. I know technology is everywhere. Having a stroller is technology. Someone must have designed it, too. And after all, technology is almost always something that moves. Things that can come to life. Anyway, we all love technology.
Cell phones. I love both cell phones and laptops. Of course, I know they are technology, but this is not the same as something complicated. I don\’t enjoy designing anything. So I would design a cell phone. It will be fun. Pretty pink, sleek. I like technical things. And that\’s great for me, but I have no desire to manufacture or design it. At best, I would design the technology. But I have no idea how it should work. If I design a technical thing, it probably won\’t work for very long. I don\’t know how it works or why it works. So I prefer to leave the technical stuff to people who are interested and skilled in that technology.
