You probably know. Often, if you are just a little careless, your touchscreen phone will fall directly from your hand to the ground. Most of the time, the display is cracked and the entire phone is ruined. While it is possible to retrieve the data, it is not very easy. There are three main problems that may be encountered.
Complication #1 – Touch operation malfunction
The important thing here is whether the image is readable. If it is, it is still possible to retrieve the data; just get USB OTG and connect a USB mouse to the phone. Most modern touchscreen cell phones support this mouse. With it, you can easily control your cell phone.
Complication #2 – Cannot access data after connecting the phone to the computer
The phone does not function as a flash drive. After adding it to the computer, the window with all saved files does not open. This only works if USB debugging is enabled on the cell phone. Then, when you connect the phone\’s USB cable to the computer, you should be able to access the phone\’s internal memory. In some cases, you may be able to operate the phone despite a damaged display; this is a great advantage for you because USB debugging allows you to retrieve data after it has been added to the computer.
Complication 3 – Cannot read the image on the display
This is probably the worst case scenario. However, something can be tried here as well. If your phone supports video output via HDMI and at the same time supports USB OTG, you should be saved. Connect your mouse to the USB OTG adapter. Next, add a reducer to connect your phone to a monitor or TV via HDMI cable. Depending on what your phone supports, use an MHL or SlimPort reducer.
Prevention is the best way to keep your touchscreen phone from breaking. For example, you can upload photos to Internet applications. One such application is Google Photos. Others that can store documents other than photos include Google Drive, OneDrive, and Drop box.
