Having a roof over one\’s head has been a basic human need since time immemorial. Today, there are many choices about where and how to live, and it is up to each individual to decide how to arrange them. The choice of housing depends on many aspects, the most important being, of course, money. Without it, one cannot afford even a small place on the outskirts of town. Housing today is so expensive that even if one wanted to live in an alternative
it would be impossible.
1. Mobile Homes – More and more people prefer mobile homes to the traditional type fixed to a foundation. Of course, this is primarily for economic reasons. Mobile homes are usually even cheaper than prefabricated apartments or family vacation homes. Today, however, mobile homes are no longer just a place to sleep, but offer real comfort. The same goes for houseboats. However, not all rivers have houseboats, so they are not as popular as mobile ones. Moreover, there are various technical problems associated with them.
2. Apartments – The majority of people live in conventional apartments. They also live in row houses and prefabricated buildings. Apartments are still relatively affordable and can be purchased by those with low incomes. However, if they want to own one privately, they have to take out a mortgage, which they pay for 20 years. Still, for most people, long-term debt is better than paying rent. Still, in Germany, France, and other Western countries, most people live in rented housing.
3. House – A standard single-family home with few rooms costs several million yen. For this reason, family homes are often occupied by people with higher incomes, but usually also have mortgages. However, even at their most expensive, single-family homes are still the best way to live. Even if all the debt has been paid off. Repairs are not free either.
